Product Description

Yo Yo Garland
Appropriately titled our Yo-Yo Garland, this decorative garland offers a homespun look to your home decor. Decorate a mantle space, staircase railing, or even the space above your kitchen cupboards to add a "pop" of color. Alternating fabrics add to the homemade feel of the garland and feature large button centers. With the resemblance of penny flowers, a very primitive motif, or some may say a "yo-yo." The garland boasts varying patterns of red, cream, green, and black checks in smaller and larger forms, repeating every three circles. The edges of the circles are slightly ruffled. Twine attached at either end can be used for tying to a post or behind a mantle. Made of cotton with wooden buttons. Imported. 6'L

Yo Yo is a novelty technique in which circles of fabric are gathered into flat pouches and sewn together to make bedspreads or other items. The technique has roots in nineteenth-century handwork, but became very popular in the twentieth century. Today it's used in quilting and many homemade sewing projects, adding a homespun twist to the finished product.
