Portland Head Light

Designed by Maine artist Harry Smith is our natural 100% Jute fiber, Portland Head Light Rug. The Portland Head Light, located in Cape Elizabeth, Maine is situated on the shore of Fort Williams Park and is a true east coast landmark. A beautiful blue sky, waves crashing against the coastline and a bird in the distance will really capture your eye. The red and white of the light house itself contrast nicely with the navy blue trim. Rug liner recommended. Please see More Info for fiber details. 20" x 30"

Jute is one of the strongest natural fibers known to man. Before the invention of steel cable, jute rope was the preferred rope material on clipper ships. Our braided jute rugs are naturally fire retardant; they can be used safely around fireplaces and in kitchens. We like to call jute braids "true braids" since they do not have a core inside like flat braids. Jute is also naturally moth proof. Jute is grown from the earth like flax. It is biodegradeable, making it eco-friendly and green.

Jute rugs and chair pads are not suitable for high-moisture environments, so it is best with low humidity. They are indoor rugs only. Do not use water to clean or any water-based cleaners. Vacuum regularly, and spot clean stains with club soda.
