Not as great as I'd hoped....

What is your opinion of this product?
I absolutely love the design and was excited to receive it. When I unpackaged it, I was disappointed in the quality. The plaque appeared to me to have a shininess and the wood, which looked engineered, was visible along the sides. I'm sending it back. Sturbridge Yankee customer service was great to work with, making the return process easy.
