Cedar Bat House
Bats in your backyard can offer a variety of benefits, including pollination services, insect and pest control and enjoyment at watching them at dusk or at night. This cedar bat house is insect and rot resistant which makes it perfect for the outdoors. There are many details in the design that make the house comfortable for the bats. The landing skerfs on the bottom help bats grip onto the wood, and a white mesh on the inside of each chamber allows these animals to keep that grip once inside. This bat house can hold up to 300 bats, and the removable sides and chambers allow for easy cleaning. Hanging hardware not included. Imported. See size specific information below.
Bat Area: 14.5"H x 12"W x 3 5/8"D
Overall: 20.5"H x 10 3/8"W x 4 3/8"D
Tips:It is not recommended to mount the bat house on a lone pole or tree in an area with seasonal variance. A building like a shed, garage or your home, or a concrete structure are preferred. In climates that are moderate to hot and do not experience a severe temperature variance between day and night, a pole mount will work just fine. In all cases, bat houses should receive at least six hours of daily sun exposure. Bats are more likely to move into these houses when there is more than one in an area, and it is recommended to mount the house at least 10 feet off the ground and 20 to 30 feet away from the nearest trees.
