How do I order?

How will I know if the order I placed via your web site is on its way?
Your order will be processed within 24 hours of receipt, and shipped within two business days if the item is in stock. We will contact you by mail if your item(s) are out of stock for more than a week. You will also receive an e-mail confirmation that the order was received and when it ships if the item is shipped UPS.
May I request a sample of material, or wood chip?
Yes, most of our curtains, chair fabrics, as well as some wood stains are available at no charge to you. Our telephone Representatives will assist you.
Do you Gift Wrap?
Many of our smaller items can be Gift Wrapped for $5.00 each. Please call 1-800-343-1144 to inquire about Gift Wrapping.
May a Gift Card be enclosed?
Yes, we would be more than happy to hand write a brief message to your gift recipient at no extra charge. There is comment/gift message field on the order form.
What is a "Bill To Address"?
The Bill To Address is the address where you receive your credit card statement. It allows us to verify use of your credit card with your credit card company.
May I place an International Order?
Yes. However, shipping charges will vary and some of our larger items are not shipped internationally. We ask that you contact our Customer Service Department so that we may research that information for you. 1-800-231-8060.
Do you honor requests for Special Orders?
Our apologies, but we do not honor requests for special orders.
SHIPPING QUESTIONS
What is your freight policy?
The item you ordered will be delivered via common carrier freight truck. The freight company will call you to schedule a delivery time. It is your responsibility to assist the driver in moving the item from the edge of trailer to the ground. Also, it is your responsibility to move the item into your home. We suggest that you have someone available to help you with these tasks. If there is no one available to help you, you can call us to order inside delivery at an additional $65.00. The driver will then place the item inside your front door. If additional movement is required white glove service is an additional $275. Call us to see if it is available in your area.
Our normal service is curbside only, unless you have requested and paid for elevated service. If you have not paid for elevated service, and request that the driver bring the item farther than the curb, you will be billed for any extra charges we incur as a result of your request.
You must be present for delivery. If you waive signature, we cannot be responsible for any damage you might find after the fact. Inspect the outside of the packaging for signs of damage. If the driver is willing, open the box and inspect the item. If you find any problems, you should refuse the shipment, and have the driver mark "refused due to damage" on his paperwork.
Keep the box and packaging until you have had a chance to completely inspect the item, and have accepted it as being in good condition. If you find concealed damage, call us right away. We will contact the delivery terminal so they can call you to arrange a pick up.
We are not anticipating a problem with your delivery. The facts and advice given here are intended to ease your experience with freight delivery.

How long will it take to receive my order?
Unless otherwise noted in the item description and providing the item is in stock, our shipping time may vary from 3-10 business days depending upon the location the item is shipped to.
Do you have Express Delivery and how much does it cost?
Yes, we have both Overnight, and 2 Day Air for orders placed before 11am EST during weekdays. Express orders must be placed via the phone. (1-800-231-8060) We will check stock and quote the total shipping charges.
May I have the package shipped to a different address than my "Bill To Address"?
Yes. Just fill in the appropriate area on the order form, or inform our Telephone Representatives when placing your order.
If I am not at home will The Carrier just leave the package, or will I have to sign for it?
Depending on the policy of your local driver/carrier, they may or may not require a signature. Freight deliveries always require your presence and signature upon delivery.
What is "Curbside Delivery" noted as (CS) on some of the larger items?
Larger items are not delivered into your home. We advise that you have assistance getting the piece from your driveway or curb into your home/apartment. The delivery company will contact you prior to delivery so that you can make those arrangements.
May I receive inside delivery?
Yes. We can arrange for inside delivery for freight items. Please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-231-8060 for details. White Glove Service is an additional $275.
ABOUT RETURNS
Did your item arrive damaged?
Please call our Customer Service Department as soon as possible for assistance with your return. We will replace it (if item is available) or credit/refund in full.

How do I return an item?
Complete the form on the back of your shipping invoice. If the return is because of a damaged or defective item, please call our Customer Service Department for assistance at 1-800-231-8060. For items being returned for any other reasons, you may ship back to us via the carrier of your choice if within 30 days. Remember to insure your package. Depending upon original payment method, you will be refunded/credited for the cost of the merchandise only. We regret that packaging, delivery and freight charges are not refundable. Sorry no COD's accepted. Returns received after 30 days and within 45 days will receive a gift certificate for the merchandise amount. Returns received after 45 days are subject to a 20% re-stock fee.

How will I receive my credit for the return?
Your credit/refund will be processed promptly. A refund check will be issued for orders placed with a check or money order. Orders placed with a credit card will receive a credit back to the original card used. If a Gift Certificate was used, we will issue another Gift Certificate.

Does Sturbridge Yankee Workshop have a retail store?
No. We currently offer our products via the web and our print catalog only.
May I find out the name of the manufacturer of your products?
We apologize but because of agreements with our vendors, that information is not available to our customers.
